We have a small but enthusiastic group of squash players at the Club who welcome players of all abilities. We will match you with players of a similar ability whether you are a veteran of the sport or a total beginner.
There is no specific kit for squash, but shorts and a sports shirt are the norm. It is very important that your footwear is non-marking (clear or white) indoor court shoes. We do not allow black or coloured sole shoes and nor do we allow outdoor or running shoes.
The club recommends that players should use eye protection when playing and observe the safety guidelines issued by England Squash. However, eye protection is expected to be used by juniors (U18) and for doubles.
Rackets and balls are available for hire, but most players will normally purchase their own after a few outings.
Club night is drop in session available to all. It is on Monday evenings and you will meet men and women of all ages and ability. To join a club night all you need to do is put your name down at the bar and the next available player will play you. Each game lasts about 20 minutes and you should get a minimum of three games in the evening. For those requiring more additional games can be had.
The club provides team training on Tuesday evenings and Junior coaching on Thursday evenings.
These sessions are run by the club coaches:
Mike Yung-Hok Mobile: 07501455026 Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Phil Tapping Mobile: 07702209171 Email: Phil.email@example.com
Individual coaching is available from either of the above and strongly recommend for beginners.
The club runs two teams in the Sussex Squash League and one team in the Sussex Business League.
Internal Competitions are held once a year. It is a knockout competition for men and women with both open and handicap events in singles, doubles and Squash 57.
